THE WINCHESTER CLUB DECEMBER 2022 NEWSLETTER
Well.... December is here! Stock up on you hot water bottles!! However let’s go back to November, all four members of Staff have done a First Aid course. We are looking into purchasing a Defibrillator for the Club, and would welcome any (signed) Comments from Members.
We have for some time been discussing the installation of a Disabled Toilet. The problems of course are numerous. For example, where, how and cost. We do however need one. Options such as changing the Ladies toilet, has been discarded due to measurements for a disabled toilet. Other options are being considered.
We are still attracting New Members every month which is good! The brilliant 70’s Duo aka Ant and Dave ended the months entertainment. they will be back and would like everyone to dress the part!
PRICE INCREASE
Please be aware that there will be a price increase on all drinks as of 1st December 2022. This is due to increases placed on the Club by the Brewery. The Committee will endeavour to keep the increase to a minimum. New prices will be displayed.
All we can say is, ‘Sorry its not us. It’s the Brewery!’
QUIZ NIGHTS
There will be no Quiz in December. Linda is thinking of giving it up! She will do the January one. If anyone would like to Quiz share with her or be a stand in, please let us know and maybe we won’t have to lose her! Or even give her a lift in the dark evenings, she lives just up the road

New Year’s Eve Martin Brickwood’s Disco (bring your own nibbles)
New Year’s Day CLOSED
Now for the subject of Entertainment! The Committee have decided (as I mentioned previously) to only have Live Music once a month. This is due to lack of interest, which is a shame. We have a lovely big dance floor, and it Is wasted when only a small handful of people are using it for its purpose. We don’t charge Members for the Music Nights......Food is not our department anymore. I am very aware that pleasing everyone when it comes to their taste in music is impossible. I have asked for suggestions and had two replies!! So, I’m afraid it will be once a month unless things change. We will have Club Discos which we will fit in around Private Functions.
Christmas Eve if Members would like to have Disco Music/Playlist then please put their request (Club number and signed) into the Comments Box and the Committee will review it. We would need to have 20 Members wanting to attend on Christmas Eve to make it viable.
Finally.....A Huge Thank You to Rosemary and her Team (Pete and Eileen) for the wonderful decorating. What would we do without Rosemary’s flare! Thank you also to Our Fab Four behind the Bar for all your work over the year that has had its ups and downs.
