JUNE 2023 NEWSLETTER
Well, here we are half way through the year and hasn’t it flown by! So many Bank Holidays in one month, wouldn’t it be nice if we had a long weekend every month. Although if you are retired like me it wouldn’t make much difference I suppose!!
May proved to be another expensive month for the Club regarding yet more repairs to the building and appliances breaking down or simply giving up the ghost! However we are still afloat thanks to our brilliant Secretary and Treasurer.
We sadly lost Lisa after five years of service behind the Bar, but she will be playing bowls and on the other side of the bar as a member. Good Luck in your new job Lisa we wish you all the best! The lovely Tia is now with us which you probably already know, and Donna has joined the Bar Staff so please make them welcome. I would like to personally Thank Donna for her help on Eurovision night. I would have been lost without her!!
Mike and Fiona have now been with us for two years and are a great asset to the Club. Sunday Lunch is always looked forward to along with all their other culinary delights.
The trial run of using a projector to show the Coronation and Eurovision was poorly attended. However those who came to the Eurovision Party seemed to enjoy themselves. We are considering projecting other events in the future.
The decorations for the Coronation were beautifully done by Rosemary and Pete, assisted by Eileen. Once again...’Thank You for all your Hard Work”. Thanks have also got to go to Lin Jacobs and Dave Young for the Coronation Draw. Also ‘Thank You” to those who helped out at the draw.
Our stalwart handyman, Jack of all trades...Chris Ralph ... would be grateful for any assistance you can give him. Believe me he can find a job for anyone on his never ending list of ‘to do’s’.
